Resources for Teaching about the Solar Eclipse

Next Monday, there will be a total solar eclipse happening in the U.S. I think it’s an interesting topic that my students will be eager to hear about, so I made a PowerPoint presentation to give them a little information.

Click here for the PowerPoint presentation if you would like to use it with your students. I made it primarily for my Level 2 class, so the language is pretty simple, and there are lots of pictures. You can also edit the presentation to make it suitable for your classes. One slide includes information about my city, Chicago, so you should change it to fit the information about your area.

I got the pictures from this website, which I recommend if you want to look for more pictures, information, or videos about the solar eclipse. And NASA’s Science Visualization Studio has a lot of good educational resources on the topic.
